Trending topics may be seen in practically every field in public relations whether through social media applications, newsletter, or television. Therefore, let’s use Twitter as an example. Twitter is a social network app that allows its user to create posts known as tweets. Now I for one, personally do not interact with this platform but it is a good place to start when hunting for trending topics. In this article, I noted three international events that have a trending basis on this particular social media.
Elon Musk
The trending news is that Elon Musk has taken a billion dollar interest in Twitter and made an offer to buy it for over forty billion dollars. The total would come from his offer to buy fifty-four dollars and change per share in cash.

Musk stated that the application itself must be taken away from the public in order to grow into a platform for free speech. A warning was brought up by certain researchers who believe this going will initiate an atmosphere where a green-light may be given for misinformation. On top of that, suspension draws in from investors who weren’t straightforwardly convinced of the entire ordeal. Some individuals argued that Musk’s offer would do injustice to the value of the app itself that has become a global source of communication for all its users. However, Musk revealed that his offer is set in stone and would reconsider his investment if the board rejects it. Nevertheless, Twitter will take a look in a different light with regards to the offer with counseling from Goldman Sachs – a global investment banking firm that makes arrangements for monetary services – and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati – a legal firm stationed in the United States that develops itself in variety of areas dealing with law, such as intellectual property.

LAPD
A Tesla car crash in Los Angeles ignites a search for social media influencers who participated in the exploit. The LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department) has made an offering of a thousand-dollars for any leads to help put a name to the driver of the rented Tesla Model-S, who attempted the savage feat before coming into a collision with a parked vehicle, and then made a getaway from the scene. Luckily, there weren’t any injuries reported…aside from the vehicle itself. The investigation was soon launched by LA police officials onto Durte Dom, an influencer on social media who took accountability for the stunt that no doubt went viral that presented a Tesla flying over a hill and crash landed into parked cars. After the post of the thousand-dollars offer, LAPD’s Central Traffic Division made a request to the public to end their reports on Dominykas Zeglaitis aka Durte Dom after receiving a flood of inquiries.

Zeglaitis confessed that he was indeed the Tesla’s driver that evening when the incident occurred. The car managed to crash into waste bins after it flew through the air before hitting the parked cars. It was reported that the segments of the Tesla may be shown coming off the front end as it collides with the roadway. Zeglaitis eventually removed the video that originally received eleven-million views from his account on TikTok, however, NBC announced that the clip revealed himself behind the car’s steering wheel before showing a shot of the Tesla hurling over Baxter Street hill in Los Angeles’s Echo Park. The rental was left at the site, which the police concluded the incident as a hit-and-run, qualifying as a misdemeanor. It was known by the LAPD that majority of their reports were about Zeglaitis, though there were a few made about Alex Choi and Chaz Warren, who are YouTubers as well, going by the usual name of ‘chazzydawg’. The police are investigating the two as witnesses as they were shown in recordings of the stunt.

One of the owners of the parked vehicles that were damaged from the impact, Jordan Hook, made a page on GoFundMe to aid him with repairing the damages to his wrecked Subaru, raising just about seventeen-thousand dollars. The larger portion of the donation came from Alex Choi, however, though this may be the same Alex Choi who was identified as a witness is left to be questioned as there was no proof regarding the accusation. Baxter Street hill seems to be the hotspot in where wild social media stunts are held. As a way to limit this, police have taken the matter to the Department of Transportation to install speed bumps.
RCB vs LSG
RCB VS LSG appears to be a trending topic in India – aka the Royal Challengers vs the Lucknow SuperGiants. Faf du Plessis, a professional South African cricketer, managed to lead his team into victory against the SuperGiants at the DY Patil Sports Stadium in Navi Mumbai, a city in India. Faf finished with a 96, which got the score moving for RCB against LSG to 181/6. Now I’m not a cricket expert and honestly have no idea on how the game is issued, but it appears that Royal Challengers had made a big win against the SuperGiants.
